I am a Carola Dunn fan. Regency romance is my go to for fluff reading. This is one of my favorites by this author. The main characters were all distinct from each other and had their own concerns and trouble reading each other. Unlike many other books in this genre, I did not get frustrated by the misunderstandings between the main characters since they resulted not from a horrible lack of communication but rather from the main characters themselves having difficulty in deciding what they want and whether or not it is too late to change their minds.

Good Plot and character development without getting confused or loosing the story line. You can almost follow the thought processes of the characters andthe authenticity of language adds to the storyline rather than dettracting from it.
Wonderful glimpse of the era of English life in the past. Author nails caracters and the period life. Pure joy!!

Author writes well. This is not my usual sort of novel, but she kept me reading to the end. It was more competent than many another romance novel I've stumbled into.
This was entertaining, but not completely the antidote to Daisy Dalrymple withdrawal. Still, I fancy a cup of tea and a biscuit.
Part of the fun of reading a Regency romance is staying inside the bounds of propriety. While I suspect the author has played fast and loose with those boundaries at times, it did not detract from my enjoyment of the story. The characters and their heart confusions are endearing and unforced. The book is also pretty darn clean, with just kissing. That's a plus in my book.
