I have enjoyed Jacks It's Friday and I was thinking... book. He tells it like it is of life here in West Texas. I find myself shaking my head and agreeing on a lot of his observations of life today. Can't wait for book #2.
An off the wall record of thinking from the Texas Plains. The book needs some editing and headings and maybe even organization or maybe not. Maybe if it comes out of the mind that way maybe that's the way should be.
I am privilege to have read many of these wonderful short essays over the last couple of years in Jack’s weekly column "It's Friday and I was Thinking." The author is a great writer and a deep thinker. His essay’s cover life and culture in the West Texas Panhandle but also his thoughts on the national and world scene; a perspective perhaps unique to the life and times of middle America. I highly recommend this book, it is a good read.

Reading this book was like listening to a friend over coffee and just wishing you could sometimes participate in the conversation. The author seems to be a fair, pragmatic, "thinking" man, with a wonderful sense of humor. I laughed out loud several times!
